Antifungal and Antibacterial effects with Safety and long-term Persistency
When MN-2 is applied to a substance, a urethane-based coating film covered with a composite of zirconia-based fine particles carrying metal ions and an antifungal material is formed on the surface. It is effective against about 300 species of molds and bacteria (including 57 species announced at the World Society for Microbial Disaster Prevention) that are frequently detected in buildings. It contains chemical substances that are friendly to the human body and the environment (composite of inorganic and organic substances), and is highly safe and has long-lasting effects.

Case study in a fishery bonded warehouse
This data is the result of coating MN-2 on the ceiling of the warehouse of a fishery wholesaler with a humidity of about 90%.
Water droplets dripping on the ceiling, and the environment was damp and easy for bacteria to grow. Even in such an environment, the antifungal and antibacterial effects of MN-2 have been confirmed.
No maintenance for 7 months before construction
Construction after cleaning 12 months have passed,
no mold has occurred

Inorganic ceramic coating agent
MN-3® provides water-repellent, oil-repellent and stain-resistant properties without compromising the warmth, texture and breathability of plain wood, improving the lifespan and strength of wooden structures and woodwork.
-
Does not create a resin film that covers the surface of wood
-
It penetrates deep into the wood and provides excellent water and oil repellency on the surface of the wood.
-
By directly painting the unpainted wood, it prevents discoloration caused by ring marks and dirt. *Compatible with MN-3U
-
Compliant with safety standards for elution tests based on the Food Sanitation Act. Safe and secure with no emission of chemicals that cause sick house syndrome.
-
Contributing to adding value to domestically produced thinned wood
1. Differences from varnish and urethane coating
It does not create a resin film on the surface of the coating, and exhibits excellent breathability and water and oil repellency. Because it does not create a film on the surface of the coating, the warmth and texture of the plain wood are maintained and breathability is not impaired. It also prevents dandruff.
It has high permeability, so it penetrates deep into the wood and dries and hardens. When it dries, it looks almost like wood, but it does not let water through. It has excellent water repellency and stain resistance, so oil and soy sauce stains can be wiped off easily even if you leave it for a while and then wipe it. It does not form a film on the surface, so it will not crack or peel. * Applying MN-3U as an undercoat can provide strong protection.
Synthetic resins (urethane, acrylic, etc.) form a film on the surface of the wood and then dry. It feels like plastic to the touch. Because it forms a film on the surface, it is prone to cracking and peeling.

2. Penetrates deep into wood to provide excellent water and oil repellency
MN-3® has an extremely small molecular weight when dissolved in a solvent compared to ordinary paints, so it penetrates well into the wood and polymerizes and hardens within the wood fibers. This improves strength and prevents deformation such as cracks, as well as mold growth caused by water penetration.
3. Prevents discoloration caused by ring stains and dirt
When water droplets land on the surface of plain wood, after drying, the tannins seep out and cause ring marks. Also, if the wood comes into contact with metal such as iron nails, the tannins will cause the wood to turn black. By applying a primer coat of MN-3U , you can prevent ring marks and various discolorations caused by wood tannins while maintaining the texture of plain wood.

4. Compliant with safety standards for leaching tests based on the Food
Sanitation Act
It is safe and secure as it does not emit any chemical substances that cause sick building syndrome.
MN-3 is an inorganic ceramic paint that has passed elution tests and formaldehyde emission tests, so the dried coating itself is safe even while it is drying. Also, compared to other woodworking paints, what is significantly different is the painting environment and the air environment in the room until it is completely dry. The solvent used in MN-3 is an odorless solvent based on IPA and isoparaffin, which are registered with the FDA as food additives and cosmetic ingredients in the United States, so there is no risk to health from inhalation from the time of painting until it is completely dry.
5. Contributing to the high added value of domestically produced thinned timber
Japan is a forest-rich country with about 70% of the land covered by forests, and it is said that about 40% of that is artificial forests of cedars, cypresses, etc. that have been planted by humans. However, these artificial forests are in danger of being degraded (thinning is necessary to maintain the forests, as the thick trunks and lush leaves block light reaching the ground and impede photosynthesis, but this is not being done mainly due to economic reasons).
We believe that MN-3 can contribute to solving forest conservation issues by enabling domestic thinned wood to be used as valuable furniture and building materials.
